Biography of our feature poet: Julia Prendergast
Julia Prendergast is a young New Zealand born, Melbourne based poet and fine artist. New to sharing her work with others, she indulges in sharing her personal triumphs, defeats, and mundane observations with both energy and passion. Through conversations of mental health, wellness, and cultural and social injustices, her poetry will walk you through feeling angry, sad, hopeful, and understood, simultaneously, in only a few minutes. Only recently emerging on the poetry scene, Julia has already featured at Blame Smarty (2017), Y.C. Liu EP launch (2017), and I’ME:Community Jams (2018).

*Reminder: WEST WORD POETRY IS A FUME FREE EVENT
West Word Poetry recognises that 38% of the population suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) to known toxins in Personal Products, which the Government Administrative bodies are lax on regulating. West Word Poetry is asking for a Fume Free Space, that means that people attending our gigs minimalise the use of petroleum-based deodorants and do not use perfumes & colognes.
