Registration for summer classes at Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) is now open. Summer classes at WPCC offer an excellent opportunity for students to earn credit toward a college degree in a relaxed environment with a lower student to teacher ratio, meaning attention that is more individual.

Summer course offerings also offer a great opportunity for current university or college students to take classes this summer that will transfer back to their home institution, at a fraction of the cost.

Over 100 classes are being offered this summer including, but not limited to, art, ceramics, biology, videography, business law, chemistry, public speaking, world civilizations, calculus, canoeing, rocking climbing, psychology and sociology.

Additionally, this will be the first summer that an eligible student may now receive full Federal Pell Grant for a summer term, even if they receive a full Federal Pell Grant during the fall and spring semesters. For more information and to seek assistance in determining your eligibility, contact WPCC’s Financial Aid office at 828-448-6046.

To begin the enrollment process, submit an application by visiting www.wpcc.edu/enroll and clicking on “New Students”.

A full list of summer classes are available by visiting www.wpcc.edu/class-schedules. Courses are listed by delivery type (online, seated or hybrid) and time (day, evening or B Term). There are also several Career and College Promises (CCP) classes available to high school juniors or seniors seeking college credit courses that are tuition waived.

Registration for summer classes is open until May 16. Classes start on May 21. Students wishing to enroll for fall semester may also do so between now and August 3. For more information on fall semester at WPCC, visit www.wpcc.edu/fall.
