Kate McGrew moved from New York City to Cork City in 2008, quickly gaining notoriety as Lady Grew: writing and performing vocals for dancehall reggae/hip-hop tunes, releasing EPs, appearing on vinyl with Dublin labels Ghetto Quietly and !kaboogie, and making music videos. She's performed in clubs and at festivals all over Ireland, the UK, Germany, Australia, and America.

Grew graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Wesleyan University in the USA and is the Director of Sex Workers Alliance Ireland. She starred in the 20-part award-winning RTÉ 2 series "Connected", bringing the topic of sex worker rights into living rooms throughout Ireland.

Her two comedy musicals - "Sweet Pang!" and "Hooker P.I." - combining her skills of acting, singing, clowning, rapping, and pole-dance, sold out shows and won 4-star ratings at Edinburgh Fringe Fest and two awards at the San Diego International Fringe Fest.
