In France, Sally uses medieval building methods. She works with masons, quarrymen, stone masons, tile-makers, carpenters, rope-makers and woodcutters. Based on her experiences there, Sally’s talk will show how workers eight hundred years ago built the enormous three metre thick walls, how they cut massive roof beams for the Great Hall and how the stones were lifted up to the masons working high up on the castle towers.
