Author Ron Bahar and Dr. Ron Wolfson: Two Guys from Nebraska Discussing Bahar’s Memoir: The Frontman
Ron Bahar is an insecure, self-deprecating, teenager in Nebraska striving to please his Israeli immigrant parents. During his senior year of high school, he dates a non-Jewish girl — a forbidden relationship he hides from his parents. But that’s not the only complicated part of Ron’s life: he’s struggling to choose between his two passions, medicine and music, and becomes entangled in a world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. The Frontman is a coming-of-age tale of love and fidelity.
The author, a child of Israeli immigrants raised in Nebraska, attended medical school at the University of Nebraska. He completed his post-graduate training at UCLA and is now in private pediatric gastroenterology practice.
Ron Wolfson, Ph.D. is the Fingerhut Professor of Education in Graduate Center For Jewish Education at AJU.
