We will begin with some short guided meditations that will help each person identify personal challenges they would like to work on during yoga nidra. Each participant will then be guided into yoga nidra “yogic sleep” leading to progressive muscle relaxation and a deep relaxation of the mind. It is here in this state that one can then explore personal challenges and come to resolution. Yoga nidra has been found to relieve chronic stress, lead to a restful sleep, neutralize and overcome anxiety, and experience greater harmony with self.
Valerie Mitchell has been offering Yoga Nidra, in a shortened format, as part of her Yoga for Grief Support classes at Wild Soul Yoga Studio for years. She successfully incorporates her knowledge of anatomy and her ability to soothingly guide her classes into this specialized form of practice.
