Asana Alchemy~ 6 Week Preview

Thursday, March 15: Sun Salutations
Breaking down each asana within Surya Namaskara A and B, including modifications and transition options. Continuing with focus on the breath, drishti, anatomical synergies, and symbolic energy awareness.

Thursday, March 22: Wrapping up pieces from last week and continuing our journey through Surya Namaskara B and adding in Virabhadrasana A and B...

Cultivating awareness and roots in our Warrior poses. Discovering new ways to enter and exit, stabilize, cultivate flexibility and strength as spiritual warriors. Includes transitions into and out of each pose, anatomical alignment adjustment and energetic awareness.

Thursday, March 29: Creating angles with breath. Focusing on Trikonasana and Parsvakonasana, Triangle and Extended Side angle. Working into the revolved postures of each pose as well to begin to deepen our understanding of the energy of the pelvis and the core and how this relates to our roots, as well as our rise. Learning appropriate modifications and adjustments within each breath into and out of the postures.


Thursday, April 12: Heart opening awareness. Focus on Belly Backbends like Shalabhasana, Bhekasana and Dhanurasana and how these postures can strengthen the lower pack, create space in the heart and cultivate emotional healing.

Thursday, April 19: Arm balances and inversions. Focusing on body awareness as we move upside down, learning the way our body and brain respond to new stimuli in shifted space. No inversion experience necessary, we will learn preparatory poses/techniques prior to attempting. Come ready to increase breath and body awareness.

Thursday, April 26: Focusing on the postures of the Ashtanga closing sequence. Learning the postures of the Ashtanga closing sequence to begin to bring into your personal practice to deepen breath, body, energetic and synergistic awareness of your practice. Includes Urdvha Dhanurasana, Sarvangasana, Halasana, Matseyasana, as well as other postures to calm and reset the nervous system.
