Situated just minutes from downtown Mechanicsburg, PA (you’ve just gotta love that town’s name!) is Williams Grove Speedway, home to the 2018 Williams Grove Half-Mile on September 8. Before the 2017 event, which was won by Jared Mees (AFT Twins) and Kevin Stollings (AFT Singles), the American Flat Track series hadn’t run there since 1994, when Larry Pegram won the Grand National event.
This year’s Half-Mile action promises to be extra spicy, not only due to the intense competition in the AFT Twins and AFT singles classes, but also due to the racetrack’s makeup. Williams Grove has relatively long straights and slightly tighter corners, which always makes things interesting for the riders as they sit up and toss the bikes into the corners at nearly 100 mph. That’s the sort of action Williams Grove is known for, and you can expect plenty of it this September! Kids 12 and under are free, and Military and First Responder discounts are available.
