Stephen Goularte graduated from SBCC’s culinary arts program in 1993, and has been cooking professionally at local eateries like Downey’s and The Little Door, as well as a Private Chef ever since. In 2000 Stephen switched gears from the kitchen to the dining room when he became the General Manager of SB’s favorite martini bar Chad’s, then moved on to Rocks in 2003. To continue growing his professional beverage career, Stephen opened the infamous night club Couchez in 2005 as GM and a year later opened EOS as managing partner. As a part of the fine dining service teams at Downey’s, Tre Lune, and El Encanto among others, he was able to expand his wine palate and embarked on a new path in the world of wine. He is a Level 1 Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and is working diligently towards his Level 2. Remington Giannico, geographer, sommelier, casual cook, bon vivant, and former professional polo player, has been working in wine for half a decade. Brought up around ranch life and living abroad throughout his youth in his father’s native land of Argentina, Remington was introduced to wine through pioneering Santa Barbara vigneron Fred Brander, from whom he learned to appreciate the most exalted wines of the world. Since May of last year, he has worked for Skurnik Wines, a renowned New York importer representing the most exciting producers available in the United States, and building upon their endeavor of establishing a California distributor. Remington is a certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommelier and will be persuing his Advanced certificate in the fall of 2018, while being several years away from thirty. You can find him walking down the Santa Barbara streets promoting terroir with ultimate flâneur.
