Meet and pet and feed some really nice emu at Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
Farmer Mary will have emu eggs for sale-not fresh (emu lay in the winter)but ready to blow out to preserve the huge greeny blue shell. Usually$25 they will be available for $10 during this event. Farmer Mary is very happy to explain the exact steps to take to empty them leaving one tiny hole.
Bring kale, grapes, Cheerios, thinly sliced soft apples, small carrots, raisins to feed the emu. Take a cool slo mo video of one eating out of your hand and you may see the unusual clear membrane that very quickly covers their eyeball as they take a bite.
Please SHARE with bird lovers. Farmer Mary will also have an emu feather for each visitor to take home. Did you know they are the only bird with double feathers?
Normal farm admission applies. Other animals will be available to meet feed and hold. Please read “your visit” at www.winterpast.org
