Saturday, April 14 is the start date of this 6-week course (once a week for six consecutive weeks) designed for dogs who are fearful or shy of people, other dogs, objects, noises, etc. In these sessions, we use desensitizing and counter conditioning techniques. You will also learn basic training cues that help your dog to build confidence and make you proud, too.
Pre-registration is required, so sign your dog up today at http://savinglives.wihumane.org/site/Calendar?view=Detail&id=135666
You pay per dog, not per person, so you can bring all the important people in your pup's life to learn these valuable techniques. Polite children over the age of 12 are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian. Discounts are available for dogs adopted from shelters or rescue groups.
The course is based on the following:
--Identifying and understanding the triggers that cause the fear or reaction
--Improving your leadership skills to redirect and reinforce good behavior
--Using calming techniques such as essential oils, massage and calming signals
