Anatomy & Physiology for Yoga
8-week Series

Thursday evenings 6:00 - 7:30 pm
​July 19 - September 6, 2018

​12 hours Contact Continuing Education for Registered Yoga Teachers through Yoga Alliance

​Open to the public. You do NOT have to be a yoga teacher to take any of these workshops. Yoga students who would like to know more about how the body is designed and how to build postures safely are welcome to attend.

This course will cover:
*How to apply the Principles of Alignment to yoga postures (asanas)
*How to use props to sense and maintain proper alignment in each posture
*Anatomy and physiology of the body parts affected by each posture
*The energetic anatomy of each posture (chakras)
How to get into, hold, and get out of each posture safely, effectively, and gracefully

Yoga students will learn:
*How to adjust each posture for proper alignment & safety
*Basic anatomy that will increase body awareness during yoga classes
*Energetic anatomy that will increase sensory awareness during yoga classes

​Yoga teachers will learn:
*How to lead their students into & out of each posture safely and gracefully
*Anatomy review

​Additional information:
*Mats will be provided, however, if you wish to bring your own mat, please do so.
*Dress comfortably and be ready to move.
*Bring a notebook and pen.

​$240 for all 8 sessions. (early-bird $180 if registered by July 9, 2018)
Each individual workshop $35 (must register for each one separately)

Registration is REQUIRED as space is limited to 8 participants in each session.
