HOW TO SIGN UP
If you know you can make it, please go to the link below. We are hoping to have 20 - 25 volunteers to ensure a one-to-one ratio. Signing up below helps us coordinate the event :)
ABOUT THE EVENT
Want to help non-English speakers with their conversational abilities? Want to engage local immigrant communities in a meaningful and direct way? Then please join Workers Defense Project for English Partners Night (EPN) where you will converse with students from our beginner level ESL classes.
Every semester this event is rated highly by our students because of fantastic volunteers like you who help their confidence and affirm what they've learned in class. We are hoping to have 20 - 25 volunteers for that evening so that we have a one-to-one ratio of volunteers to students.
For that evening, we will be set up in a "speed-dating" style and focus on career and job related questions. You will speak with one student for a few minutes, then switch to another. By the end of the night you will get to know most of our classes. You don't need to know another language to volunteer, just have a native or near native conversational English ability.
We have plenty of parking onsite!
6:30PM - Arrive to WDP for instructions on how the night will go and quick classroom set up.
7:00PM - Class begins
7:55PM - We will have a coffee/restroom break
8:05PM - Resume Class
8:55PM - Wrap things up and break down
9:00PM - Finish
