Sat 4/28, Plant 101: Learning how NOT to kill your plants & becoming a crazy plant person, 1-4pm

TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT WORKSHOPPGH.COM

Do you want to be a crazy plant person, but you find yourself living in a graveyard of plant matter, feeling guilty for being a terrible plant parent? Plant care can be complicated and we want to make it easier for you so you can work your way to becoming a green thumb and having your own junagalow. In this Plant 101 class you will be guided by Natasha of Shadyside Nursery and walk away with a better understanding of different types of plants including tropicals, basic house plants, succulents and cactuses, air plants and more. You will learn about the specific care for each type of plant, soil basics, different ways of propagation, healthy re-potting techniques, organic rooting hormones, light requirements, and fertilization. You will even leave with a variety of plants for your own home, completing 3 projects and walking out with $25- in plants and projects.

Students will be very hands on and make an adorable test tube wooden holder for plant propagation, root some succulents & jade into a smaller pot, then get a medium sized house plant to repot in a pot they can DIY and paint. Lastly, they will get some succulent clippings to root in a small pot and grow at home.

You also get an amazing plant guide that covers all the info and helpful facts to help you choose the right plants for your home. Including some tips like which plants are air purifying, pet friendly, the easiest plants to care for and all care information. If you have a plant you are having difficulties with, feel free to snap some pictures for advice after class wraps up.
