A collaboration between jazz pianist/composer Gwilym Simcock, singer/songwriter Kizzy Crawford and award winning orchestra Sinfonia Cymru, Birdsong - Cân yr Adar fuses jazz, classical and soul-folk music through a collection of spellbinding bilingual songs inspired by the ancient forests of Carngafallt in Powys.

There is a Celtic rainforest that lives and breathes in Wales. Birdsong - Cân yr Adar tells the story through music of RSPB Carngafallt, the home to a complex ecosystem of plants and animals. In spring, birdsong fills the air. In the summer months, the forest blossoms and we see the early outings of the forest's newest generation of animals. As the autumn leaves begin to fall, flocks of migrating birds fill the air. In winter the animals seek warmth and food as they wait for spring to arrive again.

Join jazz virtuoso Gwilym Simcock, acclaimed singer/songwriter Kizzy Crawford and an ensemble from mould-breaking chamber orchestra Sinfonia Cymru on a journey through nature and the seasons, featuring film projections by visual artist Ruby Fox.

Spend a night and day amongst nature; escape the noise and learn to listen again, as you enter the mesmerizing, haunting, upbeat and invigorating world of Birdsong - Cân yr Adar.
