Yoga is FUN! It wakes you up while helping you center and focus. It feels good and we do it TOGETHER! Yoga provides kids with life-long tools for wellness and stress management.
Laura and Becky will employ story yoga, games, partner yoga, and breathing to guide kids through a week-long exploration of Yoga. In our time together we’ll embody classic Yogic concepts through movement, breath, art, group discussion, dynamic play and guided relaxation.
*Please bring sunscreen and a snack. If the weather is nice we will spend some of our time at Memory Square Park.
About the Instructors:
Laura is a certified yoga instructor who enjoys teaching yoga to kids and adults as a tool for physical, mental and emotional health. She earned her BA at Naropa University, where she studied Contemplative Education which combines academics with intuition, integrating the whole person through experience and contemplation. Laura believes in employing multiple forms, allowing students to discover their own inner teacher. In 2014 she earned her L1 AcroYoga teaching certificate because she loves to see what happens when we practice in relationship.
Becky started practicing yoga as a child, and yoga has been a part of her life ever since. She had a full career in education as a certified classroom teacher and special educator teaching young children for over 20 years. It was both her passion and her priority to incorporate yoga, brain-gym, sensory motor activities and mindfulness into her daily practice with children. Currently, Becky teaches yoga to children and adults in a variety of settings. Becky approaches her work with humor and a light-hearted touch. She is an experienced Yoga 4 Classrooms® Trainer who holds certification in ChildLight® Yoga, which include Teen Yoga, and Yoga for Children with Autism and Special Needs. She is certified in Radiant Child Yoga as well. She completed her Registered Yoga Teacher 200hr. certification through the Yoga Alliance in 2015. She can't wait for camp to begin!
