Yoga Nidra enables self-inquiry and deep relaxation throughout the body and the mind. It helps to awaken us from our "sleep" of conditioned patterns, habits, and self-limiting beliefs in order to live as our True Nature. Yoga Nidra helps us to eliminate stress, engage in healing, and resolve trauma, as well as to neutralize anxiety, fear, anger, depression, insomnia, and chronic pain. Every one benefits!
This class will provide a brief description of the process of yoga nidra and the journey through the different subtle layers of the body (koshas) where guided words lead your body and mind to connect with each layer.
In this class, you will learn to focus your awareness on your breath, bodily sensations, emotions, and thoughts. Throughout, you will be encouraged to tap into an underlying sense of peace that is always present and to observe and welcome whatever is present. You will also learn to relax and to conjure up your own personal Inner Resource, a vision of and feeling about a place where you feel safe and secure.
You will also be led through some gentle yoga poses to open the heart, relax the body, and connect the body and the mind in preparation for the Yoga Nidra practice. Calming music and aromatherapy will be utilized in order to promote relaxation and grounding through the senses. You will be mentally alert and emotionally balanced at the end of class. $25
