Try our Heated Adaptive Yoga Workshop. Adaptive yoga is designed for but not limited to people with mobility limitations / disabilities, paralysis, spinal cord injuries, amputations, brain injuries or those who have been living a predominately sedentary lifestyle. The combination of gentle adaptive yoga and infrared heat brings numerous healing benefits. We will focus on breathwork to calm the nervous system and gentle movements to open the physical body. The heat increases metabolism and dilates blood vessels allowing for increased circulation to the limbs. This increase in blood flow helps open the body for a deeper stretch and an increased sense of relaxation. Students’ individual bodies are taken into consideration making this practice accessible for all.
The workshop will begin with a brief discussion and introduction to adaptive yoga followed by roughly an hour long yoga practice. The room will be heated into the mid to upper 90’s so please come hydrated, bring a water bottle and wear clothes that are comfortable for sweating.
