THE EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE TECHNIQUE – For on the spot calm.

The pressure of daily life impacts heavily on all our relationships. All too often, the situations we face trigger an intense emotional response. We overreact, lose control and let our emotions get the better of us.

Our natural state of being is calm, relaxed and at ease. When we experience an intense negative emotional state it is usually triggered by a person, situation or event. Emotional resilience is our ability to cope with, or adapt to these stressful situations, it’s not a quality we either do or don’t possess, it can be developed.

The Emotional Resilience Technique will help you deal with big emotions, as they arise. It is designed to help you shift from an intense emotional state to a calm and receptive state. You will find you are able to choose how to respond to stressful situations with confidence and composure.

The technique integrates 3 essential life skills:

Mindful Awareness – our ability to catch ourselves before we react and simply notice our thoughts and feelings, our current experience.

Somatic Sense – our ability to manage and process the physical sensations of emotion through the body

Cognitive Behavioural Agility – our ability to challenge and change our negative thoughts and behaviours

Each week you will be trained to use the Emotional Resilience Technique – This is a chance to work on your current problems, challenges or issues. You won’t have to share any personal information with the group, unless you wish to.

Over the full training course (including the Taster Session) you will also learn:

Practical mini mindfulness, somatic and cognitive behavioural techniques that can be practiced on the go, anytime, anywhere.

How mindfulness helps you train your brain.

Why certain events trigger big emotions that seem automatic and are hard to control.

How to release emotional memory and reduce the intensity of big emotions.

The impact of our thoughts on our feelings and subsequent behaviour.

How to challenge your perspectives and resistance to change

TASTER SESSION - Friday 4th May, 11am to 12pm $10

Anyone interested in learning the technique is encouraged to attend the taster session as well. We will practice the Technique and look at the science behind it. Plus you can grab our early bird price and save $15 on the total cost of the course.

Training Sessions – Fridays, 1st, 8th and 15th June, 11am to 12pm $90 ($75 early bird price)

The training will be predominantly practical and experiential. To help you reflect please bring a journal and pen to each training session.
