Join us for Vinyasa Yoga and a discussion of Pema Chödrön's When Things Fall Apart. Each week, we meet for an inspirational Vinyasa Yoga class based on themes from our book of the month. The fourth Monday, we enjoy a shorter Yoga practice and a book discussion. No time to read? No problem! Come share your wisdom, learn from others, and contribute to an open-hearted community that aims to help each other live our best lives. All levels welcome.
ABOUT THE BOOK
"Pema Chödrön's perennially best-selling classic on overcoming life's difficulties cuts to the heart of spirituality and personal growth. . . . How can we live our lives when everything seems to fall apart—when we are continually overcome by fear, anxiety, and pain? The answer, Pema Chödrön suggests, might be just the opposite of what you expect. Here, in her most beloved and acclaimed work, Pema shows that moving toward painful situations and becoming intimate with them can open up our hearts in ways we never before imagined. Drawing from traditional Buddhist wisdom, she offers life-changing tools for transforming suffering and negative patterns into habitual ease and boundless joy."
ABOUT THE BOOK CLUB
"Dharma" is a word from Yoga and Buddhism that refers to the essential nature of cosmic and individual existence. To study and enact dharma is to find and fulfill one’s purpose in life. Dharma can be felt across spiritual traditions. It is universal and at the same time highly personal. This class supports students in exploring their own way into dharma through a list of suggested readings, group discussions, and Vinyasa Yoga. Most Mondays consist of a 75-minute Vinyasa Yoga class, informed by that month’s reading. The fourth Monday of the month begins with 30 minutes of asana (Yoga postures) and concludes with a book discussion.
All levels welcome.
