In this workshop we will review and practice kriyas/purification techniques as well as mudras and bandhas. Kriyas are techniques aimed at cleansing the body. The word kriya means "action". They are practiced to balance our physiology and to clear channels of our body that are blocked with impurities. Kriyas can also be performed in connection with asanas as a way of generating more prana.

Mudras and Bandhas are also important practices, because the essence of Hatha Yoga and particularly Pranayama is to regulate, harmonize and channel Prana. Mudras means "seals" and are used to retain the Prana. This increases the energy levels and brings a greater feeling of harmony and wholeness. Bandhas are then practiced in order to then channel the prana. Bandha means to bind, so we are binding the prana to the focus of meditation.
