If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.

Gong meditations, a type of Sound therapy, have been around for thousands of years as a way of healing. David Martin combines his skill set as a yogi, healer and sound worker to create an immersive experience in sound meditation designed to release listeners from subconscious patterns, habits and conditioning through playing the gong.

Not only is the gong a sonic experience, it also facilitates a deep, ultrasonic massage of the entire body on a cellular level that allows us to experience wholeness and even altered or heightened states of consciousness. We become hyper aware of our entire beingness as it is in a constant state of vibration. His sound therapy will be accompanying a restorative practice taught by Emily Lodge that will be a blend of Yoga Nidra, guided meditation, and somatic yoga movements. You will leave feeling renewed, restored, and peaceful.

Emily has an M.S. in Yoga Therapy and is certified at the 500-hour level. She is also a lead teacher in YogaWorks teacher trainings. Emily teaches a variety of styles from meditation, to somatic yoga, to advanced vinyasa. Her goal is always to help students release the stress and busyness of modern life and tap into an embodied presence; grounded, connected, and revitalized.

Having begun his path of yoga 11 years ago, David has experienced true transformation of his mind and body. David received his 200 hour certification and Reiki master certification from the University of Maryland Center of Integrative Medicine in 2015. He is now an avid daily student of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan and presented by his masterful teacher, Jai Dev Singh Khalsa. As a Kundalini Yogi, Hatha Yoga teacher and sound healer, David strives to assist people in developing a greater sense of awareness and how our bodies move and heal in space, as well facilitating deep meditation and relaxation through his playing of the Gong.
