Join YWCA Columbus for an interactive discussion on second-hand trauma—a type of trauma typically faced by front-line advocates and activists within marginalized communities—and the role of wellness and self-care in sustainable social justice movements. Two instructors will lead us through practical breathing techniques and a trauma-informed, beginner level yoga session.
Whether you’re an activist, an organizer, a direct service provider, or just someone constantly “getting into it” with friends, family, and strangers on Facebook, this event was created with you in mind!
This event is free and open to both men and women. Yoga mats will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing for the yoga portion of the event.
About Stand Against Racism
Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice, and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. This campaign is one part of our larger national strategy to fulfill our mission of eliminating racism.
