With an understanding of the need of the time, Mr. Baljit Singh, along with his brother Mr. Kuldeep Singh established the first briquette plant in 1993. Since then, the company has stood tall with innovations and now has become a global leader in biomass fuel solutions.

With an aim to create value from waste, Mr. Baljit Singh, Chairman, Ecostan and his brother Mr. Kuldeep Singh, made a briquette machine along with supportive equipment and kick-started by establishing their first briquetting plant in 1993 and they started making briquettes and selling them. As they grew they started creating the machines that make briquettes when their clients started demanding. Gradually, more machines were added to include different types of leftover agricultural and forest waste. They also acknowledged that the scarcity that is coming will lead industries to look for a replacement of non-renewable energy sources. Hence, focusing on creating a substitute that is sustainable, they utilized technology to build more machines on a large scale. Today, Ecostan has become a globally recognized brand name for biomass machinery.
