Edible Sac High, modeled after Alice Waters' Edible Schoolyard Project, is giving teens the chance to have a transformative experience in food education.
The mission of Edible Sac High is to provide the students with the tools they will need to assume ownership for the welfare of themselves, as they strive to understand the world and their place in it.
It provides these tools through an integrated curriculum across three main activities: a school garden, a kitchen classroom, and a student-run cafeteria.
A blueprint for this program will be shared with high schools across both the state of California and the nation.
