|About||Sport horse for sale from European lineage breed in Quebec|
Behind Élevage Denis Lapointe EDL, there is a man with determination and passion that has always cultivated the dream of one day raising horses. Denis Lapointe has always lived among these majestic gentle animals while also raising his own family. Although his first foal was born in 1974, Denis Lapointe only started breeding more seriously in 1983, developing officially his European lineage in 1987 with the arrival of his reproduction stallion Roi des Ifs, a four-year-old Selle Français. Born in France, Roi was from the famous Furioso lineage. Roi des Ifs lived 21 years at Denis Lapointes’ and his families side, and fathered approximately one hundred foals, also bringing the Lapointe family on the circuits of many hippique competitions.
We proceed by artificial insemination at EDL, by only using frozen semen from preforming breeding stallions of a few breeds (Selle Français, Holsteiner, Hanoverian, Luxembourgeois, KWPN). EDL possess brooding mares (giver) and surrogate mares (receiver). Certain gestations are done by the biological mothers themselves while others are embryo transfers brought to full term by surrogate mothers at the stable. These surrogate mothers are strong, enduring and gentle mares with an innate motherly instinct. Every stallion is skillfully and rigorously hand picked from numerous stallions that have made there mark in Grand Prix or Olympic games.
Directly after the birth of the foals the EDL team attentively cares for them, familiarizing them with the world that surrounds and manipulating them from a very young age to ensure a healthy curiosity and relationship with people. EDL offer them a solid base on which to build, which makes them hard working, courageous, generous horses, who are an absolute joy to work with. The biggest asset to this breeding barn is the time Denis Lapointe passes with each and every one of his foals and the bond he builds with them. Less we forget the huge amount of love he gives to them everyday.
