Epica’s aim is to reward outstanding creativity and help communication agencies, film and digital production companies, media consultancies, photographers and design studios to develop their reputations beyond their national borders.
Established in 1987, Epica is unique in the crowded awards sector as it is the only global creative prize judged by journalists from the marketing and communications press.

With 70 categories, Epica covers all types of communication: TV, Press, Poster, Radio, Business-to-Business, Corporate Image, Direct Marketing, Media Innovation, Branded Content, PR, Promotions, Craft, Design, Packaging, Digital, Mobile and Integrated Campaigns.
The awards are judged by journalists from more than 60 specialist trade press titles and dedicated websites. 47 countries will be represented on the jury this year; including, for the first time, The Arabian Marketer (UAE), Markmedia (Romania), Sostav (Ukraine), Adformatie (Netherlands), Insider LATAM (Argentina), Shots (UK) and MAM Marketing & Media (Czech Republic).
The Epica results count in the main international creative rankings.
All the winners and a selection of other high-scoring entries are also published in the 400-page Epica yearbook which is distributed worldwide. All entrants automatically receive a free copy.
Epica book 29, covering the 2015 awards, comes out in September. The book is introduced by Matt Eastwood, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer at J. Walter Thompson. It includes background stories on all the 2015 Grand Prix winners by Theda Braddock, Lisa Marks and Mark Tungate.
The closing date for entries is September 30th, 2016 and full results will be announced on the Epica website at the end of November.
The annual ceremony and creative conference will be held in Amsterdam on November 17th, 2016.
