Falafill was created out of owner Maher Chebaro’s desire to make one of his favorite dishes accessible to mainstream America. In May of 2010 Chebaro opened his first location in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood on the corner of Broadway and Belmont, quickly earning a loyal following and a reputation as some of the best fast casual food in the city.
Since then Falafill has opened additional locations in the Loop near Millenium Park and in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park.
The food is fast, delicious, and affordable, but Maher set out not just to create a restaurant, but a culture. Thus, our ingredients are all fresh and our food prepared on-site, by hand. You won’t find pre-packaged sauces or salad mixes, but you will see steak on the grill. You’ll get artisan pitas, cooked-to-order falafel, and numerous vegetarian salads and dishes.
You’ll get a taste of a new cuisine, but you’ll also get a taste of our passions – great service, lively music, and a commitment to community. Each month we feature a creation from one of the city’s best chefs in our Chefs for Charity program. Since June 2011 these have included Stephanie Izard, Bill Kim, Paul Virant, Miguel Adunas and many more, with proceeds from each creation sold going to the charity of the chef’s choice.
