The Ferguson's trace their ancestry back through farmers, bootleggers (in Mercer County!), poets, adventurers, and a host of other rapscallions to the Clan Fergusson of Scotland. The current Chief of the Clan is Sir Charles Fergusson of Kilkerran, 9th Baronet, Chief of the Name and Arms of Fergusson.
Integral to the families that run Ferg's Public House is the concept of the Scottish Clan. As defined by the dictionary: a Clan is a group of close-knit and interrelated families; especially associated with families in the Scottish Highlands. Our families invite you and yours to come be part of our celebration and share good tidings.
Ferguson Clan Motto: Dulcius Ex Asperis (Sweeter after difficulties). This motto and spirit has always been found in the people of Mercer County; sticking by each other through good times and bad, and coming out even stronger.
The motto of Scotland is “Nemo me impune lacessit”, or: "No one provokes me with impunity". 'Nuff said!
Raising a toast in celebration and honor has always been at the heart of all the various ancestries of Mercer County Families. We continue this time honored tradition with old favorites and some of the finest quality beers and spirits in the world. With local brews and internationally known labels, our specialty beer menu rotates seasonally and periodically to offer Mercer County tastes of some of the finest brewmasters the world has to offer.
Our food menu is built around three truths for success: Keep it simple. Keep it quality. Keep it reasonable. Our pub-favorite staples are enhanced by a few additions and twists to make sure your taste buds won't get bored when you need to grub.
