First Serve Opportunities believes every individual was created by God with a specific plan and purpose for their lives.
Regardless of age or disability, everyone deserves compassionate care and has something of value to give. Our goal is to help people identify and develop their unique talents and special gifts in order to assist them in living the fullest life possible.
Real change happens through relationships. It comes from consistent, one on one personal experience that builds trust and enables growth. We take a hands-on approach to meeting people's needs. This creates a unique environment where our clients can effectively build skills adjust to their circumstances and make an impact in their own lives. The more impact they have, the greater their self esteem and the more hope they have for the future.
Sometimes navigating the maze of programs and services available through state and local agencies can be confusing and leave you feeling discouraged and hopeless. We understand what its like and can help make sense of the jargon. Here's basically how the whole thing works...
We'll discuss your needs and provide information on which agencies might have programs suitable to your circumstances.
2.Get in contact with the appropriate government agencies.
Depending on your needs and financial circumstances, you may qualify for services through the Missouri Department of Mental Health or the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Typically, these organizations will do an intake application and evaluation. The agency will then determine what services you qualify for and what funding you may receive.
3.Find out what services you qualify for.
If you qualify for funded services, you will be notified by the agency through an approval letter. If you are unable or not interested in receiving funding through a government agency, we can also provide services directly to you on a private payment basis, or occasionally through grant related funding.
4.Select a service provider
Once you receive the approval letter, you will need to choose a service provider (like First Serve Opportunities). You'll notify the agency of your choice and the agency will inform the service provider that they are authorized to provide the qualifying services to you.
5.Contact the service provider and schedule services!
