First Staff Benefits sole purpose is to provide our customers with total benefits compliance in a high value environment.
We see our clients as a major component to the US economy. Our clients create jobs. They are a conduit between the labor needs of industry and the individuals looking for employment. The staffing industry is very unique and has employee benefit and government compliance needs that don’t necessarily impact other business models. Meeting the unique needs of the staffing industry has been the total focus of First Staff Benefits. Prior to the PPACA, our focus was on providing the most comprehensive benefits possible at the most affordable cost to the employee. We developed items like “gap in coverage” to assist our end users (staffing company employees) as many of these individuals have episodic employment.
The PPACA created an administrative and compliance mess for our clients. Staffing companies were now required to offer certain levels of benefits or face stiff federal penalties. This created additional administrative and expense loads for our clients that were previously not addressed in their contracts with clients. FSB responded by creating several insurance product options to allow our clients flexibility in product funding and implemented an enrollment and administrative process to create as little “heavy lifting” as possible for our customers. We also introduced several strategic business relationships between FSB and qualified vendors to assist our clients with IRS reporting, look back tracking and compliance with ERISA and the DOL.
