|Mission||The mission of the Florence County Historical Society is to collect, preserve, interpret, and tell stories related to Florence County and its history. In addition, we hope that all residents, past-residents of and visitors connect with its history and understand the importance today and in the future.|
In 2007, the Florence County Historical Society officially opened the historical museum at 201 Florence Avenue, Florence. Three permanent exhibits and several newly designed exhibits are featured each season. A special area has been set aside to honor our veterans. A vast picture collection from the county's eight townships can be viewed at the museum.
New exhibits are developed over the winter months. This year we feature the many Schools of Florence County. Information and artifacts pertaining to the schools are on display. The Society uses artifacts which we possess or are on loan to us.
