The northeast Florida Sea Grant Extension program (part of the University of Florida) provides research-based information about coastal topics to residents and visitors.
Florida Sea Grant’s mission is to support integrated research, education, communication and extension to enhance the responsible use and conservation of coastal and marine resources to create a sustainable economy and environment.
The NE Florida Sea Grant Extension program is part of the University of Florida/IFAS Extension Program. It is based at the Flagler County Extension Office and serves St. Johns and Flagler counties. The program works closely with commercial and recreational fishing groups, marinas, environmentally-concerned groups, 4-H and other youth programs, local school teachers and marine researchers. Maia McGuire is the NE Florida Sea Grant Extension agent.
