Auerfarm was managed by Beatrice Fox Auerbach, also known for her leadership at G. Fox Department Store and philanthropy in greater Hartford. It showcased a cutting-edge poultry farm, prize-winning orchard, and successful Guernsey dairy herd. A large portion became today’s 4-H Education Center. In 2014 one of her descendants gifted the remaining 40 acres to become Connecticut’s 110th State Park, preserved in perpetuity by a conservation easement donated to the Connecticut Forest & Park Association.
