We are conveners. We facilitate discussions with privacy advocates, industry leaders, regulators, legislators (and their staff) and international representatives, to inform our Advisory Board and their organizations and to exchange views. Our “Privacy Papers for Policy Makers” brings the best academic ideas to the attention of government leaders.
We are thoughtleaders. We present domestically and internationally at a variety of programs and panels, from FTC workshops, to IAPP programs, to the eG8 in Paris, the ITU in Geneva, to Mobile Marketing Association webinars and much more.
We are collaborators. Through partnerships with George Washington University Law School, PLSC, IAPP (Navigate) and engagement from Senior Fellows Peter Swire, Omer Tene and other advisory board members, we advance the privacy dialogue. We serve as a sounding board for companies proposed new products and services.
We are communicators. Through our own outlets (websites and blogs), TV and radio appearances, press interviews on privacy stories, briefing and panels. We also write op-eds and letters-to-the-editor. We actively serve as a “behind the scenes” source to provide technical clarity and context on issues.
We seek to advance meaningful self-regulation and best practices. In formal submissions to the FTC and the Department of Commerce and by participating in efforts to advance consumer friendly and business practical privacy measures. We serve as a sounding board for proposed new policies and practices.
FPF was founded by Internet privacy experts Jules Polonetsky and Christopher Wolf.
