About A non-profit organization formed to preserve cultural and historical heritage of Grinzing and to arrange cultural events for its residents and visitors.
Geschichte. Kultur. Wein in Grinzing und Umgebung cover
Description The non-profit organization “Geschichte. Kultur. Wein in Grinzing und Umgebung” (“History. Culture. Wine in Grinzing and the surrounding areas”) operates in Grinzing, Döbling (19th) District of Vienna, Austria. Its goals are to preserve the cultural and historical heritage of Grinzing and to organize cultural 'space' for local residents and its visitors.

We are looking for funding support to fulfill our tasks and run projects. We plan to open a Cultural Centre in Grinzing, housing a museum, a gallery for contemporary art exhibitions, a venue for cultural programmes and a play/art zone for children. We will publish a brochure, produce a film, develop a website with a mobile application, and arrange various dynamic cultural programmes.

Grinzing, a unique part of Vienna, keeps its charm as an old wine village. The beauty of the historical part of Grinzing, its preserved buildings (12th to 19th centuries), the sound of the blessed Gothic church bells, the invisible presence of the many musicians, composers, scientists (Beethoven, Schubert, Mahler, Einstein, etc) who loved to visit and work in Grinzing, the numerous Heurigen with wooden tables under chestnut trees, scenic historical villas immersed in flowers, the magnificent landscapes of the vineyards, the fabulous Vienna woods, breathtaking views of Vienna from the hillsides - all this and much more make this place unique and very special.

We would be grateful if you could support our project, as it will play a hugely important role for the region, for its residents and for its visitors from a cultural and social perspective, by engaging people from all walks of life, in joint activities. This will contribute to growth and development of the region in general.
