Hi! I am a visual artist and clothing designer / maker living and working in the beautiful seaside town of Raglan, on the west coast of NZ.
I have a working artist studio and workshop space in the heart of town, and sell my work along side other artists in the AHOY collective.
I run regular art and sewing workshops for both adults and children from my workshop as well as offering one on one tuition.
I have been crafting and making since I was a child, and am passionate about hand crafting as well as education.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Completed at National Art School, Sydney ( major in painting), as well as a Diploma in Theatre Costume Manufacturing (East Sydney). I also have training in Screenprinting and Shoemaking, and have worked as a bookbinder and corsetier before "falling into" teaching. I worked for the REMIDA centre in Perth, and my teaching method is very much inspired by the Reggio Emilia school of thought.
I have run Art and Sewing workshops at Sydney Mardi Gras, Community groups and organizations, Fremantle Art Centre, Schools and out Bush!
Returning to NZ after living in Australia for 22 years, I am loving being back home and am inspired by the land and people, looking with fresh eyes.
I have been facilitating workshops for over 15 years now, and am still as inspired to teach as ever.
