About Gloom to Bloom Decorating…
Meet Lori Picarazzi, Owner and Decorator of Gloom to Bloom Decorating!
My business is built on the belief that your space can be converted into something truly beautiful without having to break the bank and without having to start from a demolition. I look at what you already have and give it new life that is transformative to your home or office. I live the “Gloom to Bloom” philosophy and have been helping clients to fall back in love with their surroundings one space at a time.
Here in New England, we are so fortunate to have such an architectural variety of older homes starting with the earliest Cape Cod style houses, the traditional “New Englander”, the simple Farmhouse and the occasional Arts and Crafts Bungalow. The possibilities are endless with any one of these. That said, my style is a fusion of simple vintage and serenity. This often consists of light, neutral walls, pops of your favorite colors (often found in furnishings and cherished family pieces), natural wood tones with lots of textures (think chunky-knit blankets, baskets, etc.). These rooms evoke a feeling of comfort and coziness long after you leave the space. I believe homes are our sanctuary so I try to incorporate a sense of calm into all of my designs.
Unlike many decorating firms in the seacoast of New Hampshire, Gloom to Bloom Decorating is a small, hands-on shop and I revel in doing the work myself (ie, painting, wallpapering, minor repairs, etc.). So many homes start with good bones (particularly older houses) and just require an eye for both appreciation and potential. I have consistently found that houses respond so well to a loving touch. Clients are delighted that they didn’t opt to buy new kitchen cabinets but chose instead to “honor” the craftsmanship of what they had by simply trusting me to bring them back to life. Perhaps all you may need are some affordable updates to an outdated home. You would be amazed at how the simplest of change
