|About||Great Valley Nature Center|
|Mission||Great Valley Nature Center, through environmental education programs and outdoor recreational experiences, fosters an appreciation and understanding of the natural world and promotes a sense of responsibility for its care.|
Great Valley Nature Center has offered quality environmental education programs since 1974. The programs offered reach over 40,000 students each year. We offer an extensive array of on-site and off-site environmentally based programs that are designed for preschoolers through seniors, including individuals with special needs.
Here at the center's 10.5 acre site are natural habitats including a stream, pond, wetland, field and woodland habitat. Also located on the property is a replica Native Lenape Village, a Bird of Prey Center, and a habitat room housing small reptiles and mammals.
|Awards||In 2008, Great Valley Nature Center was honored with the Parent's Choice Award for best Kids Summer Camp in Chester County.|
We offer both Nature Discovery Day Camps and Adventure Camps throughout the summer.
Onsite environmental education programs are available, utilizing Great Valley Nature Center's outdoor surroundings.
Outreach programs involve programs and festivals brought to location using live animals, artifacts and hands on activities.
Adventure programs are offered to adults and children, including activities such as birding, backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and overnight camping.
We offer birthday parties, barn rentals, and corporate events.
We are home to a Bird of Prey Center, established in 1998, which provides a home for permanently injured raptors from various wildlife rehabilitation facilities. Currently some of the birds you can find there are bald eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, and vultures!
