Mission The Greater Zion Conservation Fund is a community based initiative to protect lands in and around Zion National Park. The GZCF is a voluntary program. Local businesses collect a 1% or other amount based donation on purchases of goods and services. Funds are remitted to the Virgin River Land Trust, a 501(c)3 land trust operating in Washington County. Funds are used to permanently preserve scenic vistas, open space, wildlife habitat, historically significant lands, and traditional land uses, such as ranching and farming, in the Greater Zion area.
Description

The Greater Zion Conservation Fund is a community based conservation initiative to protect lands in and around Zion National Park. The fund is administered by Virgin River Land Preservation Association, a 501(c)3 organization operating in Washington county since 1993. VRLPA is directed by a volunteer board and executive director. Since its incorporation, VRLPA has raised over $10 Million dollars and protected over 3,500 acres of scenic vistas, critical habitat, and farm and ranch land in Washington County and areas surrounding Zion National Park. The fund has been established to collect voluntary contributions from visitors and locals based on the 1% for open space model.
