The Grey Snow Eagle House rehabilitates injured Bald and Golden Eagles under the USFWS rehabilitation and religious use permits. For the eagles that cannot be released back into the wild and have quality of life, we have built numerous types of caging to be able to allow these birds a place to live out their life in peace. The aviary was started in 2006 and has been funded by two Tribal Wildlife Grants (USFWS) as well as the generous funds of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. We also do educational programs off site to school groups, assisted living homes and other organizations. Finally, to aid in the conservation of wild eagles we have a partnership with Oklahoma State University to look at the genetic variation in wild Bald and Golden Eagles.
Our staff consists of 12 full time staff members and a plethora of volunteers from Oklahoma State University.
We have received two USFWS Tribal Wildlife grants that have enabled us to build two flight cages for our birds. We have also received numerous donations from other tribes and the public. We are very grateful for all of the help.
