More and more people are finally beginning to realize a holistic approach to our health and wellness is truly the KEY to living well, physically, mentally, and spiritually, whatever that may mean to you. Spirituality, in this case, is not making a reference to any particular "religion;" it is the essence of who you are, your core self.
Western Medicine is not "evil" or unnecessary; quite the contrary. There are moments we need our Western Medicine, such as in times of emergency or for surgeries, etc. It is, however, very limited in its scope and focuses on SICK-care instead of HEALTHcare or wellness. Western Medicine does not consider the entire, whole, person and that is where holistic medicine differs and can be the answer so many people have been looking for.
Holistic wellness can include many different modalities; there are a myriad of different systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) , Ayurvedic , Western Herbalism, Eastern Herbalism, African Herbalism, Reiki, Shamanism, Qigong, Thai Chi, just to name a few. Each practitioner of Holistic Healing has their favorite combination they tend to gravitate towards. As a consumer or client of a Holistic Practitioner, you will want to find one you enjoying working with which compliments your goals and lifestyle.
Personally, I enjoying working with educating people on true holistic nutrition, clean eating, potential food allergies, and the various lifestyle diet systems out there today. There is so much confusion when it comes to real nutrition and marketing/advertising only makes it worse. It's hard for people to sort facts from fiction and i enjoy sharing what I've learned with others to help them make the best lifestyle choices for themselves.
