|Mission||The Mission of Heartland Community Church is to Glorify God and enjoy Him forever as we gratefully worship Him lovingly disciple His people and eagerly evangelize the lost. (Col. 1:28, Mt. 28:18-20)|
Heartland Community Church was started with the purpose of being able to worship, serve and glorify God as we also encouraged and built up one another. We intentionally tried to provide ways for us to spend time together and experience what the early church had. Acts 2:42-47 was our desire and model.
“And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together, and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Today, we continue to strive to fulfill that goal as we commit ourselves to the Word of God and have the opportunity to get to know each other more. Now is a great time in our history as God has provided us with a new location to continue to fulfill our mission and vision which is: “To glorify God as we disciple His people to share the reality of Jesus with the world.” Brick and mortar is simply a tool and we pray that God will use that new tool to help us fulfill His great commission to go into all the world and make disciples. What an incredible privilege to share in that mission with Almighty God and each other. We are committed to His strategy which is stated in Acts 1:8, “but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Wichita is our Jerusalem and we have much work to do right here in our ow
