Showcasing the exceptional product from their sustainable Virginia farm, Leaping Waters, Sarah and Alec Bradford offer Herd Provisions, a meat CSA for home-cooks dedicated to the highest quality meat. Leaping Waters Farm raises Ancient White Park cattle (the oldest observed and recorded breed in the Western Hemisphere), Heritage Breed Turkeys and a variety of pigs - Large Blacks, Berkshires, English and American Saddlebacks, Red Wattles, Landrace, Ossbaw and "Blackshires." The Bradford’s animals graze in open fields of lush grasses and are raised humanely with an abundance of love and care. No pesticides, herbicides, hormones or antibiotics ensure that the meat is as natural as the spring waters the animals drink from. Herd Provisions gives all food lovers the chance to cook with the acclaimed meat and soon, Charleston will be able to enjoy the product at the Bradford’s first brick and mortar restaurant and butcher shop, Herd Charleston, which will be helmed by Chef Aaron Swersky and will open in Wagener Terrace this summer. The Herd Provisions Meat CSA members receive $50 worth of meat every two weeks or $100 work of meat every month and can pick up their haul at a number of designated locations around Charleston.
