Hilo Bay Hostel accommodates travelers from around the world. Private rooms to dorm beds are what we provide our guests, which is very reasonably priced for those traveling on a budget. Our rooms are clean and well kept along with the rest of the Hostel There is also a full kitchen for our guests to use. A coin operated washer and dryer is also available for guests. Free WIFI, and complementary coffee and tea (*from 7am to 10am) is available for our guests.
Hilo Bay Hostel is located just 1/3 of a mile from Hilo's main bus terminal. Many utilize Hawaii County's bus system to take sightseeing trips around the island. Bus routes and schedules can be found on Hawaii County's Hele On Bus website. Although, if you are planning to hang around town, supermarkets and numerous eateries such a PIneapples, is located less than two blocks south of the Hostel. Other unique shops and Hilo's Farmers Market (Wednesday & Saturday) is within walking distance. Other attractions such as the Tsunami Museum, Lyman Museum, Rainbow Falls, Liliuokalani Park, Suisan Fish Market, Big Island Candies and the Mokupapapa Discovery Center are all within walking distance from Hilo Bay Hostel, with paved sidewalks for your comfort and safety. But, if walking may be to much, utilize the Hele On Bus service.
Rates are $79 for a private room. $30 for a dorm bed. There is also a $10 cash deposit for your room key upon check in, which is refunded to you upon check out. Check in is at 1pm, and check out is at 11am. Lockers are available for our guest use as well (locks are not provided, but available for purchase). Quiet hours are from 10pm till 7am, at which our main gates are locked. On street parking is available between 4pm and 9am. Additional public parking is available across the street.
