Description HMO Licensing, enacted in 2006 via the Housing Act of 2004, is the legal system used within the UK, via a local authority or council, to prescribe standards of safety and amenity, and decide the suitability for profession, of licensable HMO assets. It is carried out throughout England & Wales via considering the maximum range of households or people which could live at a assets, via citing the Licensing and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation and Other Houses (Miscellaneous Provisions) (England) Regulations 2006, time table 3. Licensing is a scheme overlaying some parts of England and Wales, wherein a local authority can impose a license on other categories of HMOs in its place which are not problem to obligatory licensing.
