|About||Homestead Days in Beatrice is a community wide celebration of our homesteading heritage put together by the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce and a group of wonderful volunteers!|
Homestead Days is an event organized by the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce Staff and Volunteers!
Each year, the Homestead Days planning committee gathers in October and brainstorms a theme for the following year's Homestead Days. Once a theme is picked, activities are planned to make the coming year's event bigger and better than before!
2018 will be the 39th consecutive year of the event, which started at Homestead National Monument of America with a budget of only $200 and an idea for a gathering of craft demonstrators and activities. The celebration was planned as part of The National park Service's "Year of the Visitor" program.
In 1984, the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce offered resources to expand the event from Homestead National Monument to Beatrice. The new partnerships between Homestead National Monument of America and Beatrice Area Chamber marked a new beginning for the event - with over 17,000 visitors!
The event has grown beyond expectation into the Homestead Days we know and love today.
Homestead Days is supported by the generous volunteers, sponsors, and staff who have committed to making and growing this awesome and exciting family-friendly event in Beatrice!
