|About||My mission is to help others struggling with eating disorders. I treat the person as a whole. I am also working to improve prevention of eating disorders.|
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. -Emerson-
It is hard for some to have a positive self image in today’s world. There is pressure all over to look a certain way. Having had an eating disorder myself, I understand the struggle that several patients have. While working on my recovery I found hope and serenity that I would like to share with my clients.
My name is Kim Waters and I am a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I received my Bachelors of Science from Union College and my Masters of Science in Nursing from Creighton University. I plan to increase eating disorder awareness and work on prevention strategies.
I want to provide care for those who may have walked in my shoes. I practice a holistic approach and assess patients as a whole keeping in mind both mental and physical aspects. A non-pharmacological approach is the first step, however pharmacological options are welcome. Genetic testing is offered in order to improve medication treatment outcomes. Patients will be referred to specific eating disorder therapists as therapy plays an important role. My level of compassion with my patients is very high as we share something sensitive. With my personal experience, compassion and expertise, I believe my patients will feel right at home.
Help me create Hope for someone struggling with an eating disorder.
