If these haven’t worked for you, transcranial magnetic stimulation may help. Hope Peace Recovery Treatment Centers has administered over 2,150,000 treatments to more than 65,000 people, proving its effectiveness. HPR Treatment Centers has a treatment center conveniently located in Ormond Beach, Florida. If you’re nearby, schedule an appointment to find out how we can help you get your life back.

How Is TMS Different from Other Depression Treatments?

Three important things distinguish TMS therapy from other depression treatments:

1. TMS Is Drug-Free.
Some people don’t benefit fully from anti-depressant medications, or they can’t tolerate the side effects of these medications. Some people simply prefer not to take drugs. TMS therapy is a viable drug-free alternative.

2. TMS Is Non-Invasive.
Some depression treatments involve invasive surgery or unpleasant procedures, often requiring anesthesia. These include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), deep brain stimulation, and vagus nerve stimulation.

Unlike these treatments, TMS therapy is non-invasive. It doesn’t involve surgery or require anesthesia to effectively treat depression.

3. TMS Treatment Is Nearly Side-Effect Free.
TMS therapy can cause temporary discomfort at or near the treatment site during a session. This usually subsides after the first week of treatment. Less than 5% of TMS patients discontinue TMS therapy due to side effects.
