Federal surplus personal property donation program for eligible entities
Under Federal law, Section 549 of title 40, United States Code, the General Services Administration (GSA) has discretionary authority to prescribe the necessary regulations for, and to execute the surplus personal property donation program. All 50 states and U.S. territories may participate in this donation program.
In Illinois, the Department of Central Management Services (CMS) administers the Federal Surplus Property Program, also known under Federal law as the Illinois State Agency for Surplus Property (ILSASP) donating surplus items to eligible entities.
